Colors

As I mentioned in chapter 25, I used to think that “rainbow” was one color. Turns out I was just being cute and said that all colors are amazing, but everyone has their favorite single color so I chose red.

This article is like the one about the numbers. The numbers have their own meanings, colors are the same thing. Whenever I eat M&Ms’, they have their own colors, and sometimes I like to choose certain colors to eat. I like to eat the blue and brown ones because it reminds me of one of my favorite cartoons Beavis & Butthead.

Blue itself is a great color. I tend to like it more often when looking up at the sky, and looking at the cover of my book. My Dad likes the color blue, so I’m glad to say that blue is my second favorite color.

White! Color of the snow! I love snowboarding, so without a doubt, white is another great color of mine. I would say that every color is great, but you know, everyone has their favorite single color.

One of the reasons why red is my favorite is because that is the color of strawberries! Can’t turn down the strawberries. Color of leadership, courage, and willpower as they might say. See, that’s the thing about color, it brings in certain moods. I went to color-wheel-pro.com to look at different colors they have describing different meanings for each one.

Light red represents joy, sexuality, passion, sensitivity, and love.
Pink signifies romance, love, and friendship. It denotes feminine qualities and passiveness.
Dark red is associated with vigor, willpower, rage, anger, leadership, courage, longing, malice, and wrath.
Brown suggests stability and denotes masculine qualities.
Reddish-brown is associated with harvest and fall.

Dark orange can mean deceit and distrust.
Red-orange corresponds to desire, sexual passion, pleasure, domination, aggression, and thirst for action.
Gold evokes the feeling of prestige. The meaning of gold is illumination, wisdom, and wealth. Gold often symbolizes high quality.

Dull (dingy) yellow represents caution, decay, sickness, and jealousy.
Light yellow is associated with intellect, freshness, and joy.

Dark green is associated with ambition, greed, and jealousy.
Yellow-green can indicate sickness, cowardice, discord, and jealousy.
Aqua is associated with emotional healing and protection.
Olive green is the traditional color of peace.

Light blue is associated with health, healing, tranquility, understanding, and softness.
Dark blue represents knowledge, power, integrity, and seriousness.

Light purple evokes romantic and nostalgic feelings.
Dark purple evokes gloom and sad feelings. It can cause frustration.

White means safety, purity, and cleanliness. As opposed to black, white usually has a positive connotation. White can represent a successful beginning. In heraldry, white depicts faith and purity.

Black is a mysterious color associated with fear and the unknown (black holes). It usually has a negative connotation (blacklist, black humor, ‘black death’). Black denotes strength and authority; it is considered to be a very formal, elegant, and prestigious color (black tie, black Mercedes). In heraldry, black is the symbol of grief.

Fascinating isn’t it? It may have those meanings, but sometimes I like to compare the colors to favorite cartoon characters, or comparing colors to national flags around the world, or even the colors of people’s books and stick to them sometimes.

I really like the colors of my book. Blue is kinda the main color of the book. I stick to it. Favorite color is red, but if this was a red book, it would kinda change the mood now would it? Blue is more peaceful than red… so blue is the color for the book.

Next to the numbers being placed on race cars, colors really bring an impact to the car’s display. I would probably have my car painted in blue and brown just for Beavis and Butthead. Ha ha ha! Or I’l just go for red for strawberries.

Another thing I’ve learned about colors is that they all can be mixed together to form a new color! Red and yellow make orange, green and blue make turquoise. There is no such thing as a bad mix of colors because all colors have their own looks and charming characteristics… which is kind of the same thing. Same thing with us humans, everyone has their own skin color, doesn’t make them any different for who they are, just the skin is all different, and that’s alright with me. I’m pail white, used to think tan was the color in order to be cool. Then I learned that tan skinned people only look cool when they are born with it.

Like I said on the book, when people have their own worlds, their planets show off their colors in relation to the owner of that world’s favorite color.

My planet still remains red… it can change to purple. Or blue. Or orange and yellow… or any color if it wants to. Heh heh. 🙂

Scenery before Sleep

I live near the Seattle area, and when I see the city at a good angle, it reminds me of my toddler days.

When I was little, sometimes I would have trouble falling asleep, so sometimes when my mom and I were coming home from shopping or from school, she would say:  “Tyler, do you want to see the city?” and then I’d say: “Oh yeah yeah!” and then we drove to an area where I could see the entire skyline of Seattle, and every time it made me fall asleep.

The way my head works and what helps me go to sleep is that I want to see a beautiful image of some sorts so I can keep that image in mind.  It’s like seeing the City of Seattle and it’s \ the last thing I want to see before shutting my eyes tight. I don’t do this every time I go to sleep, but sometimes, even today, if I have trouble sleeping I would want to see something gorgeous.

Sounds and music tunes help me sleep too.  The realistic scenery is something I’d love to hold on to my eyes until I fall asleep. Ever had a scene you just want to keep for a long time?   To me, I think that’s how great dreams come into play is the amazing thoughts we have during sleep.

I find numbers to be easy to understand then the alphabet. English is one of the hardest languages in the world. There, their, they’re… too difficult. Numbers have a lot of meaning in my opinion, that’s why I’m “pretty good” at math. Pretty good because I’m not very good at coming up with answers really quickly. I have to think it out sometimes.

I’ll tell you why numbers are pretty cool. There are ten numbers that go on for a long time. 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9. Then there are two numbers that come after 9 which is 10. There’s the numbers 1 and 0 and it goes over and over again. Just like the weekends; Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday… just the like the months- well you get the idea.

I love to play video games, I really like playing racing games that have the race cars with the numbers on them. I have a game where you can slap your own number on the race car. I honestly thought pretty hard about the different numbers that could be on my collection of racing cars. I couldn’t slap the same number because that would be boring. So I thought of reasons why my numbers matter for the cars and all the other stuff that could use numbers using two digits or less.

  • 57: Count my letters. T-Y-L-E-R (5) M-C-N-A-M-E-R (7) Important number on my opinion.
  • 32: I had an email account called excitebike32@gmail.com. 3 years old when playing the video games, 2 excitebike games; one for NES, one for N64.
  • 3: My Dad has two siblings, and my Mom has two siblings.  Each set of grandparents had three children.
  • 94: Born on the year 1994. The year Tekken and Killer Instinct got into the arcades.
  • 7: July; birth month.
  • 10: Birth day
  • 13: Graduated high school in 2013
  • 20: Ten toes, ten fingers… balance! 20!
  • 1: I am number one… just kidding, a lot of people love that number for many reasons.

The list goes on and on! There are many numbers I can think of that are important to me. If I can think of 3 digit numbers, then it would be…

  • 557: T-Y-L-E-R (5) A-L-L-A-N (5) M-C-N-A-M-E-R (7)
  • 780: First three numbers of my old phone number. An interesting combination of numbers. 7 has the most syllables then any other number. 8 has two “o”s stacked on top of each other. 0 has unlimited corners just like the 8, but 7 has three corners and two sides, just like it has two syllables.

The list continues. So anytime I race in a driving simulator like Gran Turismo, I would pick the numbers that are cool and unique to me. If I were in a real race car, I would have a blast picking the numbers and most importantly racing around the track.

Evolution of Classmates

There is that crazy theory that the evolution of man started off as apes. To me that’s silly because I see chimpanzees in the zoo and all over the world.

I do believe that there is some sort of evolution in the world, and it comes from the closest people that have been with us since elementary school.

I guess you can say that there is an evolution of man and woman in this case and I’ll tell you why with my experience.

This evolution does not occur to everyone, but I guess you can say that to certain people that have changed over the years.

I have been in school for a long long time. It counts as a third home for me because back then I saw my classmates as brothers and sisters. Some were loving to me, some were mean to me; and even those who were mean to me I would forgive them with love. Back then I isolated myself because I did not know how to have fun. But it was my teachers and most importantly the classmates that showed me what fun is when it comes to being in the school doors or outside during recces. I would pick flowers and give them to the classmates, teachers, and all the other staff members of Wilkes Elementary. I was a shy boy, and wanted to make people happy. I am still like that today. Shy sometimes, and always want to make people happy. The classmates back then had flavor, character, joy, and were very friendly. That’s why I viewed them as my brothers and sisters. Doesn’t matter if anyone were blind, deaf, autistic, handicapped, or diabetic. Everyone was treated as a part of a whole.

In Bainbridge, we had a Intermediate school called Sakai. Grades 5 through 6. Things slowly changed. New friendships evolve. Nothing wrong with having new friends, but even that is dangerous sometimes. New friends equal peer pressure. They were not the same as the elementary school days. But they still had those fun creative minds during Intermediate school.

Woodward Middle School, it was the same thing with Intermediate school. Probably because it was just 7th grade to 8th grade. Small, and not as big as High School or Elementary school. The dances on that school were fun, enjoyable, and creative. It was back in the day when kids didn’t discover the grind if ya know what I mean. Even when kids do that stuff, they get told not too by the teachers. Great job I should say. Well taught.

High School I would say as the school of freedom. Because it’s such a big school, there are less staff members then there are kids I think. With that, the kids who are at that age, they can do whatever they want. New friendships evolve, and peer pressure overcame the kids. I remember the time when the kids who were at my elementary school; they were creative and fun. They taught me how to have fun with others. In high school, there were 2 kids that were in my elementary school, and they became ASB officers. (Associate Student Body) I discovered that they weren’t as creative then back then. They didn’t think of others except for themselves. Themselves, and their own friends that were on their own grade.

I always wanted to have fun in High School, and want to make people happy. I remembered having a dance contest, it was the only dance contest were 1 of every grade would dance for the ultimate prize. I won the dance contest with a tremendous victory and won the prize. Then I gave the prize to the Freshman that participated in the dance contest. The Senior students looked and secretly said “whatever” or “huh”. But the Freshman grade and Sophomore grade were surprised and excited to see the Freshman getting the prize because I gave her the prize.

Throughout the years ever since 5th grade, I always wanted to be with the people who were at Wilkes Elementary. They showed me how to have fun with others, but as the years go on, people change physically and mentally. Used to be smart but now dumb. I am not talking about getting good grades, I’m talking about kindness. Used to be fun and friendly, but now it’s mean, and picky. I was known as “The growth of the Invisible Boy.” That is what one of my chapters is called. As the years go on, I become more invisible. I even would say “hi there” but no response.

Because I wanted to be part of that group, even bullies would rise once again. A couple of girls thought I was a stalker because of that one time I liked a girl back in 1st grade through 5th grade, and they kept hold of that moment as something bad. I do not stalk on other people. Besides that was way back in the day when we didn’t know much better and went on with our little lives. I guess that’s the tough part about growing up, people remember you for something bad and not so much on the good. I complement them for remembering the past, but it’s the good stuff that needs to be talked about more often.

This does not mean that they should be my only friends. I’ve got 2 of the coolest people that I’m proud to be called friends. They are in the kickstarter support video. As a matter of fact, it’s interesting because with the “Wilkes Kids of 05”, they have changed so much, but for me, I will never change my heart. I change my looks like clothing and hair, but I will never change my heart and mind. I have told them 64 times that I want to be with them and that they showed me how to have fun, but they never listen to me; and that is very sad for them to not see what I am trying to give to the world. Wanting to make people happy, wanting to teach people to be true to themselves, and I feel that the Wilkes Kids of 05 proved a great resource for my observation in the world and the evolution of manhood and womanhood.

If I was even more honest with myself. I had harsh feelings for the Wilkes Kids of 05 for not treating the lower grades greatly and for treating me like I was nothing. You could say that I have a love/hate relationship with those students because of how they changed so dramatically. I would help them with something, but I don’t get any appreciation. It makes me sad and angry when they aren’t fully true to themselves when it comes to kindness.

The evolution of classmates starts with kindness and creativity, then goes back to mean and lame. For me, because I can’t change my heart and mind, I start out as a whole, then goes instantly to nothing. Especially when seeing my familiar face everyday.

But once I sell this book to the Wilkes Kids of 05, I hope that they will open themselves up to me, and show their true selves to the world with me. I hope to take them to new levels of exploration of life and with me, become a population of one.

Normally I review books that are already published, but this one is special, and I can’t wait to receive my signed copy.
Mcnamer is a young man with a story to share. Well, more than a story. In his book “Population One”, Tyler describes his unique experience living a life with autism.  Tyler discusses the obstacles he has had to overcome, as well as the benefits of his autism. Most people familiar with autism know that every individual is unique, and it’s always rewarding to add another perspective to my point of view, but Tyler gives us something more.
Tyler doesn’t just describe his experiences, he gives answers and advice to those who may be seeking more than just a captivating read. “Population One” tackles issues like bullying with conflict resolution and leadership skills. Tyler teaches how to embrace change and build confidence through teamwork.
“Population One” is all of this, but it’s different. The thing that intrigues me about population one is Tyler’s philosophical perspective. Tyler goes on to write about what “Population One” means, and how he isn’t referring solely to himself. His perspective on our social construct, and how the patterns therein can be applied to the rest of the universe are captivating and thought provoking.
Tyler McNamer has crafted a book that is a must read not only for the autism community, but anyone who wishes to learn more about autism or even themselves. Watch Tyler’s video for his project, and you will see why I funded him through Kickstarter. Tyler is a fascinating person, whose dedication and drive should be recognized by the autism community. Being a teenage author

I never thought I’d be the youngest author of Bainbridge Island, and I’d say it’s a new chilling experience. It’s that chilling feeling when somethings new and you don’t know what to do and feel kinda lost. That’s the feeling I’ve been going through in high school.

Also, I just wanted to say that I have made a huge accomplishment at a young age, and yet my peers still see me as just another individual. Kinda cool that they still see me as another kid walking around the track. Although sometimes I wish my peers would see how big this book really is. Especially to a certain someone that’s related to my “In the Skies with Superman” blog post. I sure hope she sees it and see what has become of it.

When I was at this publishing class with best selling author Patrick Snow, I saw that everyone in the class were older than me. I was the youngest, and it made me feel nervous, but Patrick helped me the basics of how to layout a book with title, subtitle, tagline, contents, acknowledgments, and so on. Felt good that I was the only kid that gets a chance to learn that information and not anyone else. Otherwise if people want to know how books work, I’d be happy to teach them.

I often feel kinda lonely when being the only author of my school, because I’ve been working hard to make this book a good one and to spread it out all over the Washington community. Other kids get paying jobs at Safeway and at video rental stores, my job is business involving the book. It’s more of a family effort then just myself. I have my Mom helping advertise the book, same with my Dad, and he teaches me how to be involved with this business gig. Just recently he gave me an assignment saying that I should create a flyer of some sort advertising the book. I have never wrote a flyer before, and thought it was neat to do something new involving the book.

I honestly never thought that writing a book would be so huge. I literally thought that artwork or painting pictures was much bigger than writing. I think it’s big, but I guess writing and artwork are kind of the same. But then I remember that books go around the world because the book can be duplicated and then sent all over the place.

After writing the book, I felt like I have done something none of my peers have done before, I know I kind of said that already but I had that feeling of victory, and saw a great future ahead of me involving acceptance from my peers. Especially being accepted by the kids that were in Wilkes Elementary. Show them what I achieved, show them that I’m like everyone else. Most important, I want to show them their past selves. What it was like being in Elementary School.

I shouldn’t expect expectations, but it’s always fun to dream; and most dreams come true.

Feels good to be different then others when I have abilities and skills others don’t have… sometimes.

The Marvelous Masterpiece of Music

I am proud to say that I’m one of the many many people who adores music. It really sets the mood if ya think about it. For example, if I listen to happy music, it makes me happy. Sad music makes me sad, and mad music makes me mad. Music I think really truly sets the mood for a lot of things, and even some music that has music videos have more flavor to their songs sometimes.

When I look at people and hearing what they play, sometimes they play the same genre. It’s cool to have a favorite genre, but for me, I love almost every genre. Hip-hop, Punk, Rock, Pop, Dance, Techno, Jazz, and many other genres of the world. I feel that for me, it’s good to spread out and have other favorite genres besides Hip-hop/Rap. Because I believe that if it’s just one genre, it get’s a little boring, so I decide to have other genres of music on my favorites.

I’ve noticed also that music kinda changes the person’s looks and attitudes. I can not say because that would be criticizing the genres of bands. But for example, Rock is loud, Jazz is quiet. Rap and Hip-hop kinda involves in the streets, and have their attitudes.

When I see the characteristics of these bands from their genres, I sometimes would think what it would look like to be a Rock n Roll superstar or a Rap/Hip-hop gang member. Be myself having the goodness in me, but have the superstar band member in me as well. Even in an orchestra where it’s more classy, it looks really cool.

Another thing that’s amazing about music, is that they have their own language in writing form. Pretty cool I think, because learning music is like learning another language. Then they mix it with other languages like Spanish, English, Japanese, and other languages that represents the lyrics of the songs.

Sometimes I wonder if I could ever be a songwriter or a singer. I know a little bit about music like melody, harmony, bass, chord, and percussion having their parts on music, but I don’t know if I could do that, although it looks so darn cool to be apart of the music industry after listening to different kinds of music.

In the Skies with Superman

Superman is one of the most iconic superheroes of all time. Super strength, super hearing, heat vision, X-ray vision, freeze breath, and all those powers he uses to protect the people in his adopted planet Earth.

Faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound. The infant of Krypton is now the Man of Steel: Superman! To best be in a position to use his amazing powers in a never-ending battle for truth and justice, Superman has assumed the disguise of Clark Kent, mild-mannered reporter for a great metropolitan newspaper.

 

Superman is above everyone in his adoptive planet, and yet he poses as a newspaper reporter when disguising himself as Clark Kent. No one knows who Superman really is. He’s in one place, and he’s somewhere else saving the world.

When I was really young, I’d say 5, Superman gave me a special drink that made me have his super powers for 24 hours. I decided to follow Superman up in the skies like a bird or a plane. I asked him what it’s like to be Superman, and he said that being himself is not perfect. I got confused and told him that he saves people and has everything people don’t have. He replied to me saying “I may be from planet Krypton, but I am nothing different from these people. I was hurt when my planet was destroyed with my family in it.” Then, once we went to his Fortress of Solitude, he showed me a giant book he wrote using heat vision. It was his journal, and in it is full of memories. Memories of his adventures, and what he learned while growing up. He showed me:

Live as one of them, Kal-El, to discover where your strength and your power are needed. Always hold in your heart the pride of your special heritage. They can be a great people, Kal-El, they wish to be. They only lack the light to show the way. For this reason above all, their capacity for good, I have sent them you… my only son.

 

“Kal-El? Who’s that Superman?”

“I’ve known him for a long long time. He is me.”

“I thought your name is Clark Kent.”

“In my adopted planet Earth, people call me Clark Kent. But my real Kryptonian name is Kal-El. In order for me to fit in with the world, I must blend in with these people as a newspaper reporter for Metropolis.”

After hearing that, Superman dashed out of his base saving Metropolis from a bank robbery faster than a speeding bullet. I looked all over his fortress wondering why he’s the only one of his kind. It seemed kind of sad being by himself and yet he’s loved by millions. As I looked around more in his fortress, I saw a picture of Lois Lane.

“Beautiful woman isn’t she?” said Superman as he floats down.

“Yes. She is.”

“Have you ever been in love?”

“I have. I wish I could be with her… but-”

“What’s wrong my boy?”

“I… I have autism, and she doesn’t. Autistic people can’t be with others.”

Superman then takes me up to space and let’s me see the stars while above earth.

“I have said the same thing over and over again when I was your age. I do not have autism like you do, but I myself am different from the world. I come from another planet. I was a stranger. Know this Tyler and you will never be alone in the universe.”

As we go down back to earth, I saw danger! An airplane was going down in flames. With my X-Ray vision, I saw people scared, and it made me think “This looks like a job for Superman.” With Superman by my side, we stopped the flames with our superhuman breath and landed the plane safely on a field. Saving that plane made me feel more powerful than a locomotive. The people were cheering for joy that Superman came in and saved the day but then asked “Who are you little guy?” “I’m just a friend” said I, and we brought everyone to their homes safely.

Later on, I began to loose my power. The 24 hours were running out on that special power drink. Before I went home, Superman showed me one more thing in his journal.

You will travel far, my little Kal-El. But we will never leave you… even in the face of our death. The richness of our lives shall be yours. All that I have, all that I’ve learned, everything I feel… all this, and more, I… I bequeath you, my son. You will carry me inside you, all the days of your life. You will make my strength your own, and see my life through your eyes, as your life will be seen through mine. The son becomes the father, and the father the son. This is all I… all I can send you, Kal-El.

 

“If I could see my real father and my mother from Krypton once again, my life would be different. I would be like everyone else in my world. But even though I’m a stranger here on Earth I am never alone. The son becomes the father, and the father the son. In my Fortress of Solitude, I am in contact with my father Jor-El. Are you alone in your world?”

“…No, I’m… not.”

“Very good, and you don’t need my powers to prove your abilities to the universe. Before you run out of power, what would you like to do?”

I thought about it for a moment and came up with a brilliant idea. I went to Sweden using my super speed and picked strawberries. Then I used my super human breath to blow a dark rain cloud over the Fortress of Solitude. Then, using my freeze breath, I froze all of the rain drops into snow, gathered them all up, and made 2 snowballs. Then, with the strawberries, I juiced them on the snowballs. I made snow cones! One for me, and one for Superman. Then after finishing off my snow cone, I began to feel cold again and dropped out of the sky. I lost my super powers. It’s a good thing Superman grabbed me before landing on the hard crystals, otherwise I’d get hurt.

In the skies, I thanked Superman for teaching me amazing stories of his past and a big part of his life on what it means to be him. He took me home, and I waved goodbye.

He has all that power, and all the troubles he faced, yet he learned one of the greatest powers of them all; his self control. That’s one of the reasons why he is known to have super strength. Not on lifting heavy things, but the pure strength of his heart.

Friends, I wish I could say that this was all true, but it turned out to be a dream.

The Legacy of The Rainbow Seed

In 2003, I had an assignment. That assignment was to work quietly in 3rd grade and write a story about flowers.

I got really really excited when I got that assignment because for one thing, I like writing stories, and I love flowers. I was one of the few boys in Seattle that adore flowers, and I still do today. I would pick flowers and give them to teachers, students, and to my parents. Combining flowers and writing was a good combo for me.

After I wrote the short story, I got good reviews from others around me and how adorable it was, and I felt really good when writing it for other kids that were close to my age. Now that I’m older, I could use that same story I did when I was in 3rd grade and share it to younger kids in this generation.

I took a good long read on my creation and figured out that there’s a lot more than just a rainbow. It has imagination and charm on the characters. I see that it just takes 1 seed to make a whole bunch of flowers of different colors all over the field. There is no such thing as a rainbow springing up after a planted seed and then melting the rainbow to make more seeds, that’s just silly. It’s all a part of the young imagination. But related to that, it takes 1 to make something wonderful. I guess that’s one of the reasons why I wrote the book Population: One.
