Colors

As I mentioned in chapter 25, I used to think that “rainbow” was one color. Turns out I was just being cute and said that all colors are amazing, but everyone has their favorite single color so I chose red.

This article is like the one about the numbers. The numbers have their own meanings, colors are the same thing. Whenever I eat M&Ms’, they have their own colors, and sometimes I like to choose certain colors to eat. I like to eat the blue and brown ones because it reminds me of one of my favorite cartoons Beavis & Butthead.

Blue itself is a great color. I tend to like it more often when looking up at the sky, and looking at the cover of my book. My Dad likes the color blue, so I’m glad to say that blue is my second favorite color.

White! Color of the snow! I love snowboarding, so without a doubt, white is another great color of mine. I would say that every color is great, but you know, everyone has their favorite single color.

One of the reasons why red is my favorite is because that is the color of strawberries! Can’t turn down the strawberries. Color of leadership, courage, and willpower as they might say. See, that’s the thing about color, it brings in certain moods. I went to color-wheel-pro.com to look at different colors they have describing different meanings for each one.

Light red represents joy, sexuality, passion, sensitivity, and love.
Pink signifies romance, love, and friendship. It denotes feminine qualities and passiveness.
Dark red is associated with vigor, willpower, rage, anger, leadership, courage, longing, malice, and wrath.
Brown suggests stability and denotes masculine qualities.
Reddish-brown is associated with harvest and fall.

Dark orange can mean deceit and distrust.
Red-orange corresponds to desire, sexual passion, pleasure, domination, aggression, and thirst for action.
Gold evokes the feeling of prestige. The meaning of gold is illumination, wisdom, and wealth. Gold often symbolizes high quality.

Dull (dingy) yellow represents caution, decay, sickness, and jealousy.
Light yellow is associated with intellect, freshness, and joy.

Dark green is associated with ambition, greed, and jealousy.
Yellow-green can indicate sickness, cowardice, discord, and jealousy.
Aqua is associated with emotional healing and protection.
Olive green is the traditional color of peace.

Light blue is associated with health, healing, tranquility, understanding, and softness.
Dark blue represents knowledge, power, integrity, and seriousness.

Light purple evokes romantic and nostalgic feelings.
Dark purple evokes gloom and sad feelings. It can cause frustration.

White means safety, purity, and cleanliness. As opposed to black, white usually has a positive connotation. White can represent a successful beginning. In heraldry, white depicts faith and purity.

Black is a mysterious color associated with fear and the unknown (black holes). It usually has a negative connotation (blacklist, black humor, ‘black death’). Black denotes strength and authority; it is considered to be a very formal, elegant, and prestigious color (black tie, black Mercedes). In heraldry, black is the symbol of grief.

Fascinating isn’t it? It may have those meanings, but sometimes I like to compare the colors to favorite cartoon characters, or comparing colors to national flags around the world, or even the colors of people’s books and stick to them sometimes.

I really like the colors of my book. Blue is kinda the main color of the book. I stick to it. Favorite color is red, but if this was a red book, it would kinda change the mood now would it? Blue is more peaceful than red… so blue is the color for the book.

Next to the numbers being placed on race cars, colors really bring an impact to the car’s display. I would probably have my car painted in blue and brown just for Beavis and Butthead. Ha ha ha! Or I’l just go for red for strawberries.

Another thing I’ve learned about colors is that they all can be mixed together to form a new color! Red and yellow make orange, green and blue make turquoise. There is no such thing as a bad mix of colors because all colors have their own looks and charming characteristics… which is kind of the same thing. Same thing with us humans, everyone has their own skin color, doesn’t make them any different for who they are, just the skin is all different, and that’s alright with me. I’m pail white, used to think tan was the color in order to be cool. Then I learned that tan skinned people only look cool when they are born with it.

Like I said on the book, when people have their own worlds, their planets show off their colors in relation to the owner of that world’s favorite color.

My planet still remains red… it can change to purple. Or blue. Or orange and yellow… or any color if it wants to. Heh heh. 🙂
